The way things were (6)

001 Boomer sets the household pa system to play reverie for Holiday. He fixes a big pot of Dawn and sets down at the kitchen table. Dara wanders into the kitchen wearing only a robe and a t-shirt and offers to make a Holiday Feast for everyone as her gift to them. Dee agrees, as does Boomer, so Dara fixes a huge meal. Keiko wanders in, yawning, wearing only a t-shirt and accepts a cup of Dawn from Boomer. Haruhi arrives, wearing tiny boy-shorts and a top, and slides in next to Keiko. Elaina and Yuri are still asleep, much to everyone’s surprise. Dara finishes a quick breakfast, and everyone eats up before moving to the living room. Yuri and Elaine show up, at last, and presents are exchanged. Boomer hands out his gifts, and in turn receives some psi-enhanced sights (for his gun arm, from Yuri), a bio-analysis unit (from Haruhi, possibly stolen), a collectors psi-cutlass (from Keiko), some purification tablets (from Elaina) and dinner from Dara. Also Dee got him an advanced boarding vacc suit. Everyone enjoys the day, and talk amongst themselves.
Boomer takes some time alone to study and train on his teleport skill. He doesn’t do so well, but Fate intervenes and he improves his talent. The girls want to go swimming, especially Elaine, so everyone climbs into bikinis, except Dara and Elaine, and they go down to the lake. Elaina tries out her scuba gear, and discovers some clamshell doors at the bottom of the lake.
002-008 Next day, it is discovered Elaina is nowhere in sight. The girls are concerned, and Boomer and Keiko head off to go look for her. They discover some “unwanted and unexpected” guests down by the river. Sounds of gunfire echo, and Boomer calls back home for backup. A fight ensues, and Yuri and Haruhi show up. Boomer psi smacks one of the 2 men, but the other is shielded and the fight continues. Dee shows up as Yuri and Keiko go looking for Elaina. The fight finally ends as Haruhi shoots the second man and drops him, injured. Boomer goes over to search for loot and/or info from the other vehicle, and Yuri and Keiko radio they’ve found Elaine. Dee takes her and the other girls back home while Boomer and Haruhi head off to the Planetoids Brig to drop off the 2 men. Boomer get’s hurt by the Planetoid’s computer and takes mental damage. He interrogates one of the men, and discovers they were looking to kidnap Elaina under the Family’s orders.
Not doing so well, Boomer contacts Slaughter and has him come to them. He does so, and they continue questioning the two men. Slaughter heals the wounded one, and they ask more questions. They find out about their boss, Mr. Banner, and how he is working for Lord Miller. Slaughter makes one of the men contact Mr. Banner, and they have a little chat. The conversation turns into a pissing contest, and Slaughter promises Banner he will be there soon and will kill him. After this, Slaughter finds out Boomer is hurt and must rest and heal before he can be of help against Banner. Much to Slaughter’s dismay, they wait while Boomer heals himself and they get their plan in order.
008-013 Boomer recuperates so he and Slaughter put on their Battle Dress and grab Silverbolt and head off to Glisten. They go to the Serenity Club, where Boomer teleports them both inside to Mr. Banner’s office. He is shocked as Boomer drops him. Boomer takes his PC and hard-drive unite, then they both pop out. They return to The Lovely Angel and head home, locking Mr. Banner up in the Brig on Wolverine.
Boomer uses his talents and mind rapes Mr. Banner, getting lotsa info, like the passwords for his PC and drives. Slaughter interrogates Mr. Banner some, finding out more info, and then downloads about 1 Mil creds on Mr. Banner’s cred-stick. Boomer then searches his mind for rivals in the city, and learns about Lady Katriana, another one of Lord Miller’s under bosses, like Mr. Banner, except her thing is prostitution. Boomer contacts Breaker and get’s him hopping on the PC and drives, then he contacts Glisten Authority and asks for Sgt. Doolittle. They talk and arrange a meeting over on Glisten, and Sgt. Doolittle contacts Slaughter and asks him to join them. Sam and Dee come along with them, as well as Grunt, Shipwreck and Silverbolt. Slaughter and Boomer go to a restaurant and meet Sgt. Doolittle where they talk and swap info. Sgt. Doolittle get’s up to leave, and Slaughter feels the officer is gonna bite it. Sure enough, outside a sniper takes pot shots at all of them. Slaughter joins them outside and finds the sniper, whereas Boomer drops him. Then they hand him over to the Glisten Authority and so back to the ship.
Later on, he and Boomer head off to the Red Heart Hotel, in the swanky part of “town”. Slaughter drops his name and rank to the staff and they ask to meet with the Manager. The duo wait in the bar, and eventually they are called before Lady Katriana. They talk, and Lady Katriana asks them to retrieve one of their men off the Imperial prison planet in exchange for calling off the contract on the Yuri and the Four. She even offers them both rooms, with special “benefits” while they think it over. Dee and Sam show up with the two and settle in. Sam calls for “special service” and a duo of hot “servants” show up to “serve” the two. Each receive their own “happy ending” in their own way. Boomer and Dee, however, enjoy a swim and some time in the sauna before retiring to their bed for their own fun.
Next day, Boomer tells Slaughter he has chosen not to aid Lady Katriana because of the problems they will open themselves to. Slaughter agrees, so they go and talk to her. She takes the news well, but also drops a big hint that she knows where the Four live and she can’t promise anything about them. As the duo leave, Boomer contacts the Four and advises them to pack and be ready to go. Pronto. Slaughter goes to GINA and talk with Dean Hardsman about buying out the contracts for some of his people and hiring them. He makes a sizable donation to the school just to grease his path, and goes and hand picks 3 professors – Prof. Poe, Prof. Harding and Prof. Collar. All three of them are masters in their field of science, as well as knowledgeable in a couple of others. They gather their stuff and arrange a truck to take it to the spaceport. As evening approaches, the Four show up with their baggage which is loaded onto The Lovely Angel as well. Haruhi asks to speak privately to Slaughter, and when she does she tells him Keiko is concerned about becoming a 20 year old virgin, and Haruhi “asks/offers” Slaughter if he would be the one to “fix” her. Slaughter, taken aback, advises Haruhi she needs to talk to Sam about that, so Haruhi does so. Sam is incredulous, pointing out Keiko is only 18, not to mention the Senator’s daughter. Slaughter suggests they should include Keiko in any further conversations or planning, and Sam agrees, still incredulous.
Slaughter contacts the Countess, and talks with her about the “Princess” and how she is invited to come to a “private school” with the Four if she will allow it. The countess agrees for only one term, and if Elaina’s grades have slipped in any way she is gonna yank her home. They wait for a bit, and a limo full of baggage shows up with Elaina joining The Lovely Angel. The ship lifts off and fly’s off toward Wolverine with everyone aboard.
014-016 The gang arrives back at Planetoid Wolverine and settles down. The Prof’s all move into the old Compound, sharing the space with Devon, and the Four + 1 settle in at the Eagles Nest. Boomer covers the “rules” for living on Planetoid Wolverine, and makes sure the Princess, as well as all the others, understand them. Then he orders some special Transceivers and equipment so Devon can implant them in his family. That night he overhears a loud argument amongst the Four + 1, and when he goes to find out what it is he he discovers Haruhi being tossed out of their room as Keiko cries and Yuri fumes. But he discovers nothing else about it, and returns to his living room.
Morning comes and Boomer starts PT with the Four + 1, running down to the lake and back – then returns home before deciding to set out on some exploration. They head off to “the Bridge” and locate the “Flight Decks” and make sure to disarm the security there. Then they take a Shifter to it and explore. They discover and explore the whole installation, including the Fighters and Shuttles, until Boomer decides to take one of the Shuttles up. In size and layout it’s much like a Pinnance, so he instructs the Girls as he flies off Wolverine and into orbit. There, they discover a probe of unknown origion scanning the Planetoid. Boomer has Haruhi get in the Gunner’s chair and she tries over and over to shoot it. Finally, Fate aids her and she scores a blast, destroying it. Then they return to the Flight Deck and return to the Bridge, where they get in the Air-Raft and head for home. Boomer instructs the Princess in driving skills, and they don’t die. Once they return home, everyone decided to go swimming, so they don their skimpy bikini’s and head down to the lake. Boomer notes Keiko, Yuri and Haruhi “making up”, with Dara’s aid, and they have a little discussion while they all swim.
Next day, Boomer researches the Merc lists and finds a couple of candidates that he set’s up interviews for. He meet’s the prospective clients on Glisten, and interviews them – and finding they have all the skills he’s looking for he hires them. First Sgt. of the Artillery Ouzo, and Corporal of the Calvary Jaeger.
017-022 Time passes after the holidays and everyone adjusts to their new life on Planetoid Wolverine. The implants Boomer ordered show up with the scanner and such, so Boomer asks Devon if she can implant him and his family. She agree to and does so. The new Merc’s show up and settle in, with the Merc’s adjusting to the necessary space. The Four 1 continue with their education, with the Professors aid, and Boomer takes Devon on a trip to the Bridge to discuss with the computer his need for authorizing people to their places on the ship. He survives the ordeal, and then he notifies Slaughter. Slaughter has plans and they make arrangements to go to Wurzburg with Dee, Devon and Silverbolt. They gather supplies and go.
023-029 [jump]
030-032 WURZBURG
A week later they are at Darkover and encounter a Battleship in orbit over the planet. Boomer talks to them and discovers nothing good, so the gang takes the Cutter and go down to Caer Donn. Once there, Boomer use his telepathy to contact Cheri of the FC. They discuss the wave of Imperials swarming over the planet, and how it might not be safe to meet at Caer Donn, so she agrees to meet them at Alderan. The gang rents an ATV from the starport and head off. About a couple of hours later they arrive at Alderan, where they get a room at the tavern and wait to meet Dio. He shows up and takes them to the FC. Slaughter talks with them all and offers to take them to live on the Planetoid, but Reynaud says no and offers a counter idea. They can come to their Planetoid if need be, and help out while still living on their home world. Slaughter is skeptical, but agrees and to aid them Cheri takes the info location from Boomer’s mind. Boomer, Devon and Slaughter discuss taking the Emperor back with them when they go, but again Reynaud nixes that idea and instead they agree to bring it when they come later. With nothing else to go with, they gang return to Caer Donn. Once there they encounter some imperialistic crap and discover two shuttles are headed down from the Battleship. Boomer deals with them, and everyone gets in the Cutter and they escape. Once back on the Lovely Angle, the Battleship drops into their orbit to encounter them. They make a mad dash for the gate, and exchange fire along the way. Boomer scores a hit on the other craft, doing some damage in the process. Then they jump for home.
033-039 [jump]
040-043 GLISTEN
They arrive at Glisten. They take the Cutter down, and Boomer calls for Yuri to come pick him up.
A few days pass of boredom at the beginning of the New Year with Boomer making sure the Girls, especially the Princess, keep up with their studies. Boomer noses around SuSAG looking for work. Mr Kelzar asks him if he would like an assignment to go to the Prison planet, Mithras, and retrieve an erroneously incarcerated prisoner named Commander Aramis. Seems one of the many Factions of the Imperium taking part in the Rebellion had the Sword Worlder exiled because he had info too important to leave free but they were afraid to actually silence him. (or couldn’t.) Boomer tries to discuss terms of payment with Mr Kelzar, but fails and basically agrees to pick up the tab plus reward Boomer IF he returns with the bounty intact and alive. Boomer grudgingly agrees and accepts the mission. Boomer sets out to equip the ship and break down the mission in a briefing to everyone. Except for a very few, he opts to take The Dagger and all on the trip. Load up the ship and move out to jump.
044-050 [jump]
Boomer teaches Elana the Vacc Suit skill while the others join in for a refresher course. The Girls also explore the ship, and wander meeting others.
051-052 WEISS
Arrive and refuel. Boomer takes the Cutter down with Dee and they visit a restaurant before going to a show. He brings several pizzas and drinks back to the ship for the remainder of the crew.
053-059 [jump]
During this week Boomer teaches those who care the Gunnery skill, while Haruhi joins in for a refresher course.
060-061 MITHRAS
The Dagger arrives at the Prison planet and Breaker clears them for landing instructions, claiming to be a supply ship dropping off supplies under Archduke Norris’s orders. Boomer prepares to drop planetside with the ATV, gathering Devon, Stegal, Flint, Heavy Duty, Air Raid and Gravv to go with him. Boomer, Devon, Stegal and Air Raid all bring their Battle Dress. They get Breaker to help fly the Cutter down and Boomer tells him to fly “like there’s something wrong” so they overshoot the “approved” landing zone. Doing so, they manage to land closer to their target and they drop off the ATV. Devon drives the ATV around and they go looking for the inmate. They encounter a road crew of inmates and have a brief fight. Back at the Cutter, Breaker accidentally dismantles the door controls because Boomer tells him to “make it look like there are repairs he need to do.”, just as a roaming band of Imperial guards shows up and attacks them. He radio’s for aid, and Boomer has Devon return to the Cutter while Gravv mans the turret. Breaker announces he discovered Keiko has stowed away on the Cutter and is being a nuisance. Boomer tells Breaker to keep her from leaving the ship her any way possible, so he clocks her. Twice. The ATV arrives and drops off Boomer, Stegal and Air Raid to deal with the guards while Breaker tries to repair the doors. He manages to do so as the gang takes care of the guards. Boomer takes a lucky shot and is wounded. Boomer has Breaker move the Cutter closer to Commander Aramis’s location while they drive the ATV there. Once there, the gang encounter’s a large gang of inmates (armed) as well as the Sword Worlder. A brief, garbled exchange of requests and Commander Aramis joins them. They return to the Cutter and head back to The Dagger. It becomes obvious a selection of Archduke Norris’s ships are bearing down on them, but Boomer has Silverbolt make normal movements to the departure point so no one will notice them.
062-068 [jump]
During the jump, Slaughter and Keiko talk to Commander Aramis. Things go well until he reveals he thinks Keiko is “kufuble” (kew-foo-bleh), Sword Worlder slang for “cute, very fuckable and highly profitable”. Keiko dismisses him with a “humph” and has nothing more to do with him.
069 WEISS
Popping out at Weiss, Silverbolt notes there are System Defense ships close by, and suggests just taking The Dagger on to Glisten. Boomer agrees, and they jump.
070-076 [jump]
077 GLISTEN
Arriving at Glisten, The Dagger runs out of fuel and is coasting only, with barely enough juice to operate the maneuvering thrusters and stop. Boomer contacts Mr Kelzar and advises him they were successful but need a tow before Archduke Norris’s people notice them. Mr Kelzar arranges a tow ship to pick them up and haul them off to the starport. There Boomer delivers Commander Aramis to SuSAG and refuels The Dagger before he heads off to the TAS for drinks. He invites all of the crew and offers to buy the first round. Then he makes arrangements for heading home.
078
The day passes and Boomer is asked by Dee to do something about the two love birds on the couch. He looks in on them and finds Haruhi and Yuri smooching in front of the video screen. He comes upon them and has a talk with them, explaining why he doesn’t think they need to be necking in front of Dee. They agree to chill out when appropriate in the future, although Yuri won a 10CR bet with Haruhi that Dee would be more freaked out with them than Boomer was/is..
The sensor system identifies a ship in orbit over Wolverine and Boomer contacts it. It identifies itself as the IIS Falcon and is going to land. Boomer contacts Studd and Slaughter and asks them to meet him at the Compound as he explains why. Then he heads over there at top speed. Hours pass before Studd and Slaughter show up, just as Boomer does, and Devon joins them as the Inquisition ship lands. All preparations are on red alert as the ship opens up and disgorges Elite Inquisition Troops, along with two ranking officers. They introduce themselves as Leftenant Richard and Captain Heintz of Archduke Norris’s Imperial Inquisitional Forces stationed in the Spinward Marches and they have questions for Boomer. It becomes rapidly obvious that they know about the recent mission, and ask several rather demanding questions about Commander Aramis’s location. Slaughter, Studd and Devon fire back with sharp answers to them, along with Boomer, and basically tell them if they want information go talk to SuSAG. Boomer feels a psychic invasion into his mind for just a second, but shields up and gives them nothing. He is worried about the Girls back as the Eagles Nest, especially Keiko who talked at large with the Sword Worlder while en route. Captain Heintz assess the situation and agrees, withdrawing back into the ship. They leave, presumably headed toward SuSAG. He and Devon climb into the Air Raft and take off toward the Eagles Nest once again.
Along the way, they get a call from Breaker that warns them the ship’s signal was fading out, but recently returned in strength and was descending toward Planetoid Wolverine once again, directing their approach upon the Eagles Nest. Boomer freaks out, and uses his binocs to scope out ahead. He makes out a large ship descending toward his home in the distance, and a series of laser fire emanating from (supposedly) Tralfaz defending the outpost. At this time, the ship locks in on their air raft, so Boomer pushes Devon out and summons up his skill teleports to the Eagles Nest. Devon watches the air above as the air raft is blasted from the sky, and she fears Boomer is dead. Fortunately, he arrives home safely – unfortunately, it is with inertia in display and he bounces thru and across the living room before coming to rest before the amazed eyes of his family. He quickly recovers, and heads to put on his Battle Dress while the IIS Falcon lands outside his house and again disgorges troops. Tralfaz puts up a grand defense as Boomer contacts the Mercs and calls for backup while getting dressed and ordering the Girls to hide in the vents. Dee produces a gun, although Boomer doubts she will be able to do much with it. The sound of combat outside echoes loudly for a bit, then stops. Boomer readies some makeshift defenses by flooding his house and preparing to drop a live wire in it. Devon watches the troops outside and notes one gang splits away from the main force. She comes up toward the house as Boomer takes some indirect fire and a couple of grenades from the troops. He clears out a couple and they decide to withdraw, heading back toward the ship. Devon hides as they exit, and the ship leaves. Boomer breaks the Girls out of hiding and they all head off out of the house, cause Boomer feels the Inquisition will fire upon it. They run to the lake, but make it only partway before they meet Devon, who warns them of the other gang sneaking about. Boomer decides to have everyone rush back up to and into the house. A exchange of firefight wounds Dee (in the arm) and Elaina (In the chest) before they retreat into safety. Yuri takes care of Dee while Devon takes care of Elania. Boomer opens up on the Recon gang and get’s wounded but manages to wound a couple before joining the rest under cover. Making sure everyone is safe and accounted for, he leaves Devon in charge and teleports to Planetoid Wolverines “Bridge”. There he sits in the Captain’s Chair and allows the Ship to touch his mind and download the information he needs. He takes slow, powerful psychic damage from it, but manages to move to the necessary consoles. He finds where the IIS Falcon is located now and, having managed to survive that, he begins to move from console to console powering up the guns and firing up the maneuvering engines. Quickly he “chases” the ship while it moves from “safety zone” to “firing range” dropping blasts against his house and everything around. Quickly and expertly he narrows down the range until he eventually manages to snap off a shot or two, time after time, until”suddenly” the ship turns and leaves, headed back toward Glisten. Boomer finally gives it one long range punch, disabling much of it’s power and engine systems. Finished, Boomer calls for a pickup, and Gravv and Zara fly out to retrieve him. Zara tends to his wounds, and they return to the Eagles Nest. Then he gathers everyone up and informs them to get their gear cause they’re moving to the Compound for a bit while repairs are undertaken.
079-081 Time passes and news of the rebellion grows and spreads. News of Varger Corsairs invading the Frontier fill the news. The Solomani moving to recapture the Imperial borders as well as the Aslan moving their Ihateei class transports into the Frontier fill out the lineup. It almost pushes aside the occasional appearance of the Zhodahni and Cybot warships from the news. Needless to say the whole of the shattered Imperium slowly becomes a warzone. Boomer has the Varger team begin clearing and working on his house, while also ordering some new stuff online for delivery. Boomer also contacts the Countess about Elaina, and talks to her. She is not pleased with the news, but offers to “forgive and forget” it all if Boomer will do one small thing for her. She asks Boomer to go to the Imperial Reserve planet, Marastan, and “acquire” a Nerger for her – a bird-like creature. Or suffer the consequences. Boomer talks with Elaina and then agrees with her.
Boomer does some research on the Nerger and finds it is a feather covered Velociraptor-like creature with no sense of humor and hunts in packs. He prepares for the trip, ordering equipment and picking out the crew. He also creates a dummy company called Ropponmatsu Transport, repaints and reregisters the Lovely Angel as the Emeraldus, and sets himself up as the president. He picks out his crew as himself, Dee, Devon, Yuri, Keiko, Haruhi, Dara, Silverbolt, Hound, Grunt, Slingshot and Rabbit and buys everyone fake ID’s and uniforms. Then they stock the ship and head off.
082-088 [jump]
Boomer takes some time to charge his matrix. It’s hit and go but after a week he manages to do it.
089 BENDOR
They arrive in the middle of Archduke Norris’s fleet. Boomer freaks a bit, and nervously exchanges contact with them before sneaking away to move on.
090-096 [jump]
Boomer has Devon check him out and make sure everything is recovering.
097 FUFDH
The ship pops out of jump, crosses the system, and leaves.
098-104 [jump]
105-106 MARASTAN
A week passes and the ship comes out to come up against a Frontier Cruiser. Skillfully, Silverbolt maneuvers the ship to a point where they can refuel, and moves stealthily to park in orbit. Boomer gathers his people and they head down to the planet. There they explore around and find a spot where the beasts might be. They land, and Boomer, Dee and Devon move out looking for one. They find five, all of who move in toward them. Boomer lays out a suppressing field of gas grenades, dropping a couple of them. The other three attack, and everyone fights a bit. Dee is unarmored but manages to avoid them enough till one of the others can knock it out. Then Boomer fights one discovering while it cannot breach his Battle Dress, it can knock him over. He deals with it, leaving only the one on Devon. They manage to knock it out also, and call for their ship. Silverbolt arrives allowing the two to load both beasts and then they return to orbit and the Emeraldus. Rabbit and Devon modify the animal container into a Low Berth of sorts, and they put the two beasts into hibernation.
107-113 [jump]
114 FUFDH
The ship pops out of jump, crosses the system, and leaves.
115-121 [jump]
122 BENDOR
Arrive to encounter Archduke Norris’s fleet again. This time they are contacted and advised they will be boarded. Devon takes the commo and smooth talks her way into convincing them they should not. There is a debate, and while it continues Silverbolt moves the ship into position and and leaves.
123-129 [jump]
130-133 GLISTEN
Arrive at home with no surprises, so Boomer contacts the Countess and delivers his report and arranges for them to be picked up. He has his Cargo Bot move the container to the Cutter so he, Dee and Devon can go to Glisten. When they arrive there they discovers the beasts have escaped. Now they must retrieve them, which is no small feat, before they finally drop them off with the Countess’s people. She “rewards” Boomer for the extra one with some pay, and the group returns to Wolverine.
As time passes they study and train their psychic skills some and increase them. The Varger continue working and cleaning up the Eagles Nest wreckage site while waiting on the supplies Boomer has ordered to arrive. Boomer works on the new design and reconstruction of his place.
Slaughter shows up and contacts Mr. Kelzar and arranges a meeting, then he contacts the FC and arranges for them to show up. (Cause apparently they can do that now.) Boomer teleports to Wolverine’s Bridge and asks the ship to “add” them to the roster of authorized people. He also convinces the ship to send Construction Bots to his homestead and help with the work and add a Shifter Room there for ease of convenience. Boomer calls for a pickup and Yuri and Keiko show up, get him, and take him back to the compound . He meets the FC and they talk while Saughter waits for Mr. Kelzar to show up. A very Tralfaz-like bot show up and introduces itself as TK-5 and “scans” the FC, then heads off to the “Varger” Boomer contacts them about the arrival.
Slaughter shows up with Mr. Kelzar and introduces him to the FC and everyone, including the Four. They all discuss possible future plans including the protection of The Emperor on Wolverine instead of Darkover and the potential refitting of the scavenging fleet with the new engine of Bull’s from Lady Margaret. One that is done, Mr. Kelzar suggests taking a ship and disrupting ArchDuke Norris’s communication net across the sector. This will hinder him in his ploy for the Empire and aid Margaret as well.
Boomer takes the FC to visit the ship’s Bridge and explains thing to them about it. They “discover” a Sensor Console and activate it along with a few other consoles. Boomer also acquires some weapons as well, much to the FC’s dismay. Finally the FC leaves, notifying the gang they will return if needed and for them to call. Everyone left on Wolverine moves the fleet over to SuSAGs docks and Boomer set’s himself up and followers at the TAS for a while.
134-135 Time passes as the gang rest on Glisten and the fleet is worked on. They travel about the city, exploring and talking about maybe taking Elaina out to get her “drivers license”, as well as needing to up the Girls training. To this extent, Boomer orders 15 “assault paint guns” with ammo so they can learn some skills and practice them with the Mercs & Varger combined. Boomer also takes to having some of the Air-Rafts modded.
Boomer talks with Mr. Kelzar about going thru the spacelanes around the sector and uploading a virus at the gates, hoping to nip Arch Duke Norris’s listening post in the bud. Mr. Kelzar offers to have the Dagger finished so Boomer can use it to perform the mission, and offers him pay for it. Boomer agrees, and sets up a crewlist made up of some Mercs, plus the Girls, plus Silverbolt, Slingshot, Rachet, Breaker, Uzo, Jaeger, Devon, Bull, Rabbit and Dee.
135-141 [extra jump]
142 MORA
Travel to Mora and train along the way, plus activate the computer to upload the virus at every Gate. Arrive at Mora, refuel, and head off.
143-149 [extra jump]
150 DIOMN
Pop out at Diomn and encounter a Cybot ship. Panic ensues as the Dagger takes on the Cybot ship in combat, only to win. Limp on to the starport for minor repairs and refueling.
151 [extra jump]
152-154 REGINA
Scoot over to Regina and relax and refuel. Devon takes some time to revisit her homeworld while Boomer surveys the ship, looking for any more damage. He discovers the sensors on the outside of the ship have possible damage, so he takes Slingshot out to scrounge some other parts and brings them back for Rabbit to work on. They also have more complete repairs done on the ship.
155-161 [extra jump]
162 FORNICE
Arrive at Fornice. Yuri and Elaina have birthdays during the trip, so Boomer takes them out to a restaurant for a party. He also gets his Anagathic treatment while there. They refuel the ship and prepare to leave.
163-169 [extra jump]
170-183 GLISTEN
Finally arrive at home. Keiko has a birthday on the trip, so Boomer treats her to a restaurant also. Then he goes to visit Mr. Kelzar and get’s paid, plus delivers his report. Then he contacts the Countess, who missed her daughter’s birthday and is having fits. Boomer deals with her.
The gang rests at home, and Dara has her b-day at the TAS with her Dad providing a special feast. The Four enjoy their time together, but Boomer finds them all just a tad irritating, so he decides to head off for a bit of separate R&R. Taking an Air-Raft out he goes to visit The Bridge, and settles into the Captain’s chair having a small chat with the Ship. After a bit, he discovers the ship is operating on fumes and decides to refuel it. But first he contacts his lawyers and arranges to outfit Roppenmatsu as a asteroid mining company, just to prevent any legal problems. That done, he returns back to the compound and collects Devon, Dee, Yuri and Harui to take them out to the ship’s Flight Decks. Once there, they train a bit of Ships Boat on one of the shuttles. They spend a day or so learning everything necessary but Yuri takes to discovering how to activate the self destruct button so well that anything else seems hard for her. Finally, they take a Shifter to an empty dorm and set up shop.
After a couple of days of instruction, he finally has exhausted all his teaching, so he asks the ship if it can download information concerning the shuttle’s use for refueling and flight. It can, and does so to everyone except Devon. Haruhi is the only one who has trouble with it, and must call upon her Fate to survive it.
Finally deciding they know as much as they can, they all go to The Bridge and take Planetoid Wolverine out of orbit and across the system. Along the way, Boomer discovers the ship has disabled it’s weather systems, primarily used for some forms of protection. Boomer reactivates them, and sends out messages to the Varger and his companions in their houses. They all rest and relax in the dorm till they arrive. When the Planetoid is in position, Yuri and Haruhi take a shuttle, and Boomer and Dee take the other while Devon watches the Bridge. They do well harvesting asteroids the first day, but Yuri and Harui squabble a bit. Boomer decides to separate them, so the next day he and Yuri work in one shuttle while Dee and Haruhi work in the other. They recover much more fuel this time, so Boomer tries it a second day. Finally collect about 30 asteroids or so, enough for the ship to convert to fuel for about a year or so. Then they return to The Bridge and move Planetoid Wolverine back into it’s home orbit. Boomer details his “report” out to Studd and Slaughter, plus sends a copy to Mr. Kelzar so he can use his network on Glisten to spread the disinformation more easily.
As the week comes to an end, Haruhi finally has her birthday, and Boomer takes her out to Glisten for a proper celebration feast. Everyone and anyone is welcome to join them.
184-185 As time goes by, The Four mention it’s “summer holiday” time and remind Boomer about his promise to go on a vacation. Boomer agrees, and while they cheer, Boomer makes arrangements to travel to Aster, a nearby pleasure resort world. He takes a hand comp and arranges a lottery to select who will go with them and what manner they will enjoy R&R. He loads up The Dagger with the necessary fuel and supplies ad off they all go.
186-192 [extra jump]
193-197 ASTER
They arrive and settle into orbit. Boomer gathers everyone’s stuff and they take the shuttle down to land at the arranged spot to catch a ride to their beach house. Once there, they all settle in with much excitement and move off to the store to stock up on supplies. (It costs an arm and a leg!! <ba-dam-boom>) Then they sit back and relax.
The next day, Jager and Ouzo go to the beach to give out scuba/swimming lessons to anyone who wants them. The Girls all go, and Boomer, and Dee shows up after a bit. The day passes, when suddenly Dee and Boomer notice a psychic-mind scanning the crowd. Boomer and Dee wander the beach, searching for the culprit, but to no avail. Afterward, the gang goes out to eat before heading home.
The next couple of days pass with more of the same, with Boomer noticing the Princess is gone one morning. He finds her out jogging and joins her. The second morning, Haruhi “gets even” with Dee by “waking her up” and almost starts a war. Otherwise, Boomer spends much time resting on the screened in porch, enjoying a smoke with he newly discovered local smokes called “Ganja”, when he notices an intruder spying on them. Later Devon joins him, and notices the spy as well. They detect some psychic-mind scanning going on, as does Dee, Yuri and Haruhi.
197-198 Next day again Boomer spies another nosy spy, and set’s out to track him down if possible. The Girls wander in from the beach and clean up, leaving Keiko to enjoy the screened in porch. Suddenly, Boomer notices Keiko is missing and set’s out to find her. Boomer uses telepathy and the emergency tracker to get the general direction to her, and the gang splits into 2 cabs to go there. Boomer and the 5 show up first, and Dee, Devon and the Merc’s show up second. Boomer has the Merc’s take station at the doors. He uses sense life to pin down her location. They sneak into the building, and Boomer takes out a security cam. He doesn’t spy the second one fast enough and they get caught and encounter armed resistance. Boomer get’s wounded but he contacts Dee and advises her of the situation. The find the Inquisition symbol on one of the laser carbines they take off a body. Dee does a deep scan of Keiko’s mind and learns she is held in a nearby room with a bag over her head, the captors talking about selling her into white slavery, plus one of them holding a gun to her head. She informs Boomer of the situation and the location.
Boomer and the rest formulate their plans and prepare to enter – he calls some cabs and has them standby close at hand. Boomer’s idea is to teleport into the room with Haruhi in tow to distract the guard, then grab Keiko and teleport out while a few others enter and engage the enemy. Upon one signal, they go and Haruhi successfully distracts the one guard while Boomer sits on Keiko’s lap and teleports her away. Heavy Duty kicks in the door and he, Ratchet, Shipwreck and Dee encounter the enemy. Meanwhile, Boomer gets Keiko and the rest to the cabs, but Keiko gets shot. Yuri freaks out, as does Dara and Elaina, but she is also concerned about Haruhi, and to some extent Dee, so she sticks with Boomer. He loads Dara and Elaina with Air Raid caring for Keiko into a cab and sends them away. Then he and Yuri return inside. They come upon the remains of a firefight, and spot Rachet and Shipwreck down and wounded, while Heavy Duty is fighting back, Dee is trapped, and Haruhi is standing off across the room. Boomer rescues the two fallen Mercs while conceiving of a plan to distract the guards. He does so, all the while hearing an odd sound and feeling an odd psychic touch from the room.
In the end, they rescue Dee and Heavy Duty, and call for Haruhi to leave. Apparently, the firefight has stopped, for some reason, but Haruhi is still in there. Turns out she has their leader, the villain who was mean to Keiko, captured and is holding a gun to his head. Boomer harangues her for a short bit, so she kills the leader and leaves to join them. They group gets in a cab and goes back to the beach house where they find Devon working her magic on the wounded. Keiko is in bed resting, and Dara, Elaina and Yuri are in there with her. Dee asks Boomer how Haruhi got out in the end, and he jokingly “Says she should ask Haruhi.”. So Dee calls Haruhi over and they step outside, where Boomer soon hears shouting and arguing. Dee comes back in and details her concerns about Haruhi to Boomer, and he decides to go outside and talk to her himself. He finds her moody, and sitting in a chair, so Boomer pulls up a chair and talks with her while they share some ganja.

207 GLISTEN
They return to The Dagger and head for home. Devon works on all the wounded members during the trip, and Boomer recharges his matrix. They appear with no problems, and settle back onto Planetoid Wolverine. As everybody unpacks, Boomer contacts Slaughter and gives him a detailed report, also mentioning his and Dee’s concerns about Haruhi. Later on, he contacts the Countess about gives her a “report” about Elaina’s adventure. The Countess is less then pleased.
208-210 The day passes on by, and the Sagara trio gather up their clothes, pack travel bags and tell Boomer they are going out for the night and will be back tomorrow. They leave Dara and Elaina behind, although there is much hushed whispering amongst the group before they leave. Boomer inquires as to their plans, and Yuri assures him they aren’t leaving Wolverine and won’t get into any trouble – they just need a “girls night out”. Boomer notes the fancy way they are dressed and somehow doubts her words, but he says nothing. Finding some quiet space, Boomer works on his meditations and training with his psychic gifts a bit, increasing his skills some.
Time passes while Dara and Elaina work on fixing a nifty dinner, with Dees aid and permission. They have a wonderful dinner, and afterward Boomer checks thru his mail when a signal alerts Boomer that sensors have detected something in orbit. He has the Mercs check on it with their equipment, but they announce they can’t identify it other than it is a probe-like vessel. Boomer grabs his Battle Dress, loads an Air-Raft and heads out in the storm to the nearest Bridge.
Boomer takes forever driving thru the storm but finally arrives at the Bridge and don’s his Battle Dress before going inside. He tries to contact Yuri, but only get’s her voicemail. Once inside, he talks with the ship and “learns” how to operate the Sensor console, nearly killing him in the process. However, he manages to survive and talks with the ship and learns info about the probe. (Like it is of Ancient design, and just “appeared” above Wolverine, and is scanning the surface searching for something.) Boomer tries to contact Bull, but get’s his voicemail. Disgusted, he summons up his psychic ability and teleports to Bulls home, appearing in the bedroom. There, much to his shock, he discovers a naked Yuri, Keiko, Haruhi and Sam – with no immediate sign of Bull, although he shows up momentarily soon after. Boomer, although startled, explains to Bull his report. Boomer also notes all 4 women are drunk, to different degrees, but Bull isn’t. Bull announces Keiko is now Psychic, (“Amongst other things!” Haruhi adds.) gathers his Battle Dress then him and Boomer head out to confront the probe.
After searching about in the dark, stormy weather, they find the probe. Bull “communicates” with it, via his ability and Wolverine’s Computer, and explains what is going on with the situation. After a lengthy conversation, they come to the conclusion they need to destroy it ASAP. Bull does so, and the threat is averted. After returning back to the Bull Pen, Boomer gathers the three and drags them off toward the Bridge to register Keiko. Once there they do so and Boomer also leans that, before Bull destroyed it, the probe beamed out a message. Some investigation by Boomer tells him even more about the probe, its possible function, possible origins as well as where it sent it’s message. Into Cybot territory at a Red Zone world named Djinn, which use to hold an Ancient’s Base. Then they all return to the Compound.
The next day everyone has a morning meet-up, where Boomer doesn’t find out any more info on what the three were doing. It occurs to him to have Bull contact the Forbidden Circle and invite them to come visit and have a talk with Haruhi. He does so, and later they do show up. Boomer makes sure to give them a tour of the Compound, then he makes plans with Devon to see what she thinks upon inviting them to stay over. She doesn’t mind, so before dinner that evening Boomer invites the FC to stay, and do their stuff tomorrow. They agree.
The next day, the FC invites Haruhi to go on a walk with them around the compound. They talk with her, and when they return Haruhi bursts into the Compound, runs to Keiko and Yuri and hides under a blanket sobbing while Dara and Elaina stand by. Boomer, talks with the FC about what they discovered, or decided, (Haruhi is stuck in a cold, emotionless mood.) and they tell him it would be best to invite Haruhi to their meeting. Boomer goes in to talk with the Girls, and settles Haruhi down enough so she agrees to join in their talk. They return, and the FC holds a minor Circle with them whereas much is said and future plans are made. A decision is suggested, and Haruhi agrees (Much to Boomers relief) so she goes out on a long walk with Kasa. Later that night Dara fixes everyone a special dinner.
211-212 The morning quiet is shattered by a series of screams as Boomer is shocked awake. He rushes out to find that Imperia is going to visit Glisten in about 2-3 months around Halloween. Boomer decides to have some Dawn and talk with Yuri over what he saw at Bull’s house. He doesn’t get a chance but files it away for future reference and prepares for Moving Day. He arranges the Mercs to help him and his crew load their junk on one of the shuttles and they all take it to the Eagles Nest.
Everyone is engrossed in the moving when Boomer receives a contact from the Glisten Authority. It is a politely worded request for permission to land and visit with him, Haruhi – and to some degree the rest. Since it doesn’t involve the Inquisition, Boomer agrees and notifies everyone they will have guests later. The rest of the day is spent arranging stuff at the Eagles Nest, until Boomer and the Girls all take a ride to the Compound. There, a huge Survey Scout ship bearing the markings of the Glisten Authority lands and disgorges Detective Johnston, his girl Friday (Amanda), and some patrolmen. Boomer leads them into the Compound where they have a talk. Detective Johnston questions Boomer about his version of the incident where Keiko was kidnapped, what all happened, and what Haruhi’s part in it was. Then he questions Haruhi, which leads her to psychically hollar for help and bring in Yuri and Keiko. Detective Johnston decides to interview Keiko as well. While that is going on Boomer contacts his lawyers (Shyster, Shyster and Shyster) and puts them on the clock. When Keiko comes out, Boomer tells Detective Johnston he has contacted his lawyers, after which the Detective is forced to arrest Haruhi. After a tearful goodbye between the Girls, he takes Haruhi onto his ship and they leave. Nighttime comes, and more arranging is done back at the Eagles Nest, but Boomer contacts the Senator and shares info with him about all this. Keiko even adds her .02 worth, and the Senator agrees to get his people (Dewie, Chetum and Howe) on the job to work with Boomers people, especially helping against the political angle. That done, Boomer calls Yuri over and they have a heart to heart over many things, especially the most recent event at Bulls house. Yuri hem’s and haw’s a bit, but then, after swearing Boomer to super secret silence, she tells him a detailed explanation of what happened and how it went down. Now Boomer knows the how’s and why’s of how Keiko lost her virginity and became a psychic. He is less than thrilled, but given the current situation he curbs his opinions.
213-215 A couple of days pass, and the Senator contacts Boomer so they can discuss the case. It seems due to her relationship with Keiko, what Haruhi did was acceptable under Imperial law – as long as there is no mention of psychic involvement in it. Once the psychic card is played, the Court will turn Haruhi over to the Inquisition. End of discussion. Boomer talks to his lawyer (Mergatroid Shyster) some as well, and he advises Haruhi’s only real hope is to plead temporary insanity, plus make sure there is no mention of psychic shenanigans. Boomer decides to contact Bull and concoct a plan with him on “fixing” Haruhi. That settled, he arranges to reserve a suite of rooms at the TAS for the next week or so and notifies everyone involved that they are headed off to Glisten. Bull, Sam, Boomer, Dee, Yuri, Keiko, Dara and Elaina all get on the Esmareldus and go to Glisten. They dock, and get settled into their rooms at the TAS, and prepare for the next day.
Next day Boomer, Yuri, Keiko and Bull go to visit Haruhi. After passing security, they finally meet her dejected form in a orange jumpsuit and have a talk. Boomer explains his plan to her, and after some consoling/convincing by Yuri and Keiko, she agrees to let Bull “shut her down”. He embraces her and shuts off her psychic skill, causing a war of Fate to ensue – which Boomer wins with his pool of determination being what it is. The guards come and take Haruhi back to her cell and they leave.
216-218 Time passes, during which time Boomer teaches Elaina some driving lessons, Dara enjoys some serious shopping, Dee enjoys sightseeing, and Bull and Sam hobnob about visiting different places. Elaina also goes to visit her Mom, gaining some necessary signatures needed for Boomer to take her to get her Driving License. The Senator’s people contact Boomer and they talk about Haruhi’s case some more, especially the part where the prosecuting team had her tested and – surprise – she came up headblind. Also Boomers own people contact him and they admit the prosecution is having problems with their case now. Upon receiving the news, Bull and Sam head on back to Wolverine, and Boomer takes Elaina to get her Drivers License. She passes, and the group has a party to celebrate.
219-220 The day of the trial arrives and Boomer, Dee, Yuri and Keiko go to provide support. The Court begins with an outline of the case, and then witnesses are called including Haruhi and her testimony. Boomer is amazed, and wishes he could have been witness to whatever fantasy Haruhi is spinning, because it doesn’t resemble the one he remembers. Still, all bases are covered and it becomes rapidly apparent to Boomer that both legal teams have earned their fees on overtime to set this as close to legal as possible. When the Defense points out that the Prosecution had failed to even show Haruhi was psychic, the Inquisition team up and leaves the court. By the end of the day, the Court calls the case “Justified Homicide” and leaves it a that. Haruhi is processed, changes clothes, and is set free.
Everyone returns to the TAS and Boomer calls up for the finest food for a lengthy celebratory party, during which the Senator and the Countess show up, providing an unexpected big social boost to the whole event. The Countess is pleased, and offers Boomer her thanks for all he has done while mentioning she might need his services again in the near future. Boomer has word with her, and then he talks to the Senator a bit.
221-223 News of the Rebellion fills the holovision constantly. Keiko and Yuri spend their time practicing their Blades and Athletics out in the yard. Boomer takes some time to go to The Bridge to check on getting Shifter rooms built at the Compound and the Merc Base. He spies Elaina down at the lake practicing her Scuba and Swimming. He contacts Mr. Kelzar and asks for some work, and they discuss the Ancient’s Probe and info abut it. He suggests a meeting to discuss options, and offers a time. Boomer also contacts Bull and they discuss Haruhi and what to do with her. Bull suggests training, so Boomer decides that is a good course of action to take. He goes ad talks with Haruhi about what it will take to get her powers “turned back on”. He also talks with the Varger about constructing rooms around the new Shifters when they’re built. Keiko asks Boomer to go with her and watch her while she trains with the Mercs a bit. They do so, and Keiko takes on the entire group of Mercs – fighting thru them all, then the lieutenants, and finally the boss until she wins. Boomer is impressed and calls for Devon to come administer aid to all concerned.
Next day, Boomer gets the crystal from Bull and contacts the Forbidden Circle to talk about possibly helping train Haruhi. They suggest her spending a year at Nevarsin, training there. Afterwords, Boomer talks with Haruhi about the trip, and what to expect. She isn’t thrilled, so Boomer also talks with Keiko, Yuri and Dee about his plans. They agree to talk with her over it as well.
Net day, Boomer goes to the TAS to meet Mr Kelzar and have his talk. They discuss their plans, and what to d about it. Mr Kelzar has some probes with him, for Boomer to use, so he loads them up in his Ships Boat to take back to Wolverine. While on Glisten, he goes to visit the Countess. She talks with him and hires him to acquire a pair of Snow Lizards from IceTina when he passes by it. Then he travels on back to Wolverine.
224-225 Yuri receives a classified notification/communique from Sgt Adam Robinson, Imperial Notification Board, that reports her mother’s (Wanda) ship, the ISS Purple Rose, encountered a Cybot ship and was “taken” (or destroyed, hopefully!) around Mora and so Yuri is being notified as-per-Wanda’s wish of the event. Boomer hears this as well, and is moved, but Yuri runs off to her room and has a breakdown. Keiko and Haruhi comfort her while Imperia’s darkest “goth like” song blares on the stereo. Boomer goes up to their room and manages to survive visiting her long enough to provide comfort, but she is inconsolable. Dara goes down and asks Dee permission to make Yuri a “special dinner”, per Boomer’s suggestion, so they can have a wake for Wanda. It is a glorious meal and everyone toasts to her memory, even if made up. Boomer spends the rest of the evening watching documentaries by Steve, Imperial Zoologist, about Ice Lizards from Ice Tina to learn more about them. He get’s some ideas, and contacts Rabbit and discusses maybe jury-rigging some weapons and containment systems to capture them. He also plans on making some modifications to the Cargo Hold on his ship for that purpose.
Next day, everyone (The 5) goes with him over to Glisten in the Emeraldas to pick up some supplies and outfit the ship, preparing it for the mission. The 5 run off to a nearby Frontierbucks and relax, waiting for Boomer to get finished and join them. He does so, and eventually they all head off to the Mall for some shopping. They wander around and enjoy their time there, but Boomer notices some members of the Red Heart Hotel (Family) nearby, observing them. Boomer decides not to cause a scene so he hustles everyone up and out to a waiting cab and head back to the starport where they head for home.Once there, Boomer selects his crew and sneaks away to the Compound to ready to leave the next day.
226-232 [extra jump]
233 DINOMN
The Emeraldas fires up and tears thru the frontier as they travel for a week. Boomer makes plans to fire the probes, plus any contingency plans as needed. Finally they arrive at Dinomn, and pop out to face square off with a Cybot Pyramid Ship. Panic ensues, and Boomer has Rabbit manage the Black Globe machine encasing the ship in safety just in time. After a bit, however, they drift to a point where they must drop the generators and engage the enemy. Fire is returned, and thru a wild spur of luck they manage to cripple, then take out, the Cybot’s – all the while launching Mr Kelzar’s probes toward Djinni. Eventually they wrap it all up and hit the launch to return for the rest of their mission.

237-239 ICE TINA
With something acting odd, the Emeraldas limps into port fortunately to find a classy facility where they can maybe get some repairs. Silverbolt docks the ship at the starport, and Boomer set’s Rabbit to handling the repairs. Then Boomer contacts the local “Craig’s List” of guides, searching for one who can lead them to deal with the Snow Lizards. After going thru each and every one, he finally finds a last resort guide named Carl and sets up a meeting at a local bar planetside. Having arranged that, he takes himself, Devon, Stegal, Heavy Duty and Air Raid down in the Cutter, leaving Devon to fly the Air Raft, to the Imperial Downport. Once there, they find the Lucky Strike Saloon and meet Carl there. First impressions of Carl lead Boomer to understand why he was a last resort. But he seems to know his stuff, and after producing a convenient list of nearby “merchants” who can outfit Boomer’s expedition, they all mount up and head out. Carl tracks down what appears to be a possible target or two, and they head that way. Soon they come upon a huge female, resting on her nest and horribly suspicious of everything around her. Boomer notes something about her and her nest, but fails to detect anything. Carl locates another nearby target, and Boomer opts to go after it, which turns out to be a male. They catch it’s attention, and just as Boomer prepares to take the shot, it leaps and smacks the Air Raft out of the sky. Devon manages to land it and save them all from a crash through Fate smiling on her. Boomer drops the male, and calls for the Cutter. They load it up and return to the female. Again, Boomer feels there is something odd about the nest, but again fails to detect anything. Night comes, and Boomer prepares to take the shot again. The female is scary with her eyes aglow, and after the first shot (which bounces off her skin!) Devon maneuvers the Air Raft around the beast for some more shots. The female is tearing up the forest with her screams, including one that almost wrecks the Air Raft, but Boomer manages to drop her. He calls for the Cutter and they load the beast up. Boomer then investigates the nest, and discovers what appears to be a Shifter pedestal in the ground. He tests it and finds it works, but he realizes he has no time to fiddle with it right away so he disables the plinth and they all return to the Downport. Boomer pays Carl and exchanges contact info with him before returning to the ship and deciding to hit the starlanes back to Glisten.
240-246 [extra jump]
247-248 [GLISTEN
They arrive at Glisten, and Boomer sends word to Dee he is home safe and sound. Silverbolt docks at Glisten, and Boomer contacts the Countess and arranges for a pickup. The Countess is delighted, and invites Boomer to a fancy shmancy dinner party she is having, and tells him bring whomever he feels. Boomer again contacts Wolverine and talks with Dee, and Slaughter, and the Girls, and tells them all “dress up cause tonight’s gonna be a shindig”. Then he heads for home. Devon opts to stay home and miss the feast, but everyone else shows up dressed to the nines – all the women in fancy dresses, and Bull decked out in full military regalia plus Duke his badge. Boomer packs everyone into the ship and they return to Glisten. Yuri goes on and on about Boomer going into dangerous Cybot territory until Dee calms her down.
Finally they arrive at the Countess’s estate, and enter to stand in awe of the estate’s splendor. The Countess shows up, and after introductions are made she invites them to follow her into the feast. There hey spy a collection of Nobility gathered about, many who recognize Duke Slaughter and greet him. The Countess explains how Boomer has be of great help to her, and how the Duke is aiding in educating her daughter, and with his permission she would like to elevate Boomer to the rank of Marquis, and give him the title “of Acquisitions”. Everyone applauds, and Slaughter agrees (as if he wouldn’t!) and the feast begins. There is much dineing and wineing, however after quite a while Boomer and Slaughter bid their farewells. They return to Wolverine, and Boomer talks with Slaughter along the way “filling him in” on the latest happening. They go visit the Bridge once they return home and Boomer sits in the Captain’s chair to communicate with the ship. Boomer does some research on their two main locations, and discovers the probes went to a secret Ancient’s “listening post” where they collected a wide variety of information – but there would be little else there. The other spot, on Ice Tina, doesn’t show up in the Bridge’s system so it deduces it must be a “secret lock down” spot. A holding tank the Ancients kept secret from general knowledge containing who knows what. Him and Boomer talk and discuss various things, including the Girls. Slaughter calls for the Girls, especially Keiko, to report to the Compound for training. He feels they need to be taught Brawling, since Keiko feels she is so bad ass at it. They show up, Keiko with her gloves and Haruhi packing her body pistol, and meet with them. Slaughter takes on Keiko, and after a fairly one sided brawl, he dunks her down and tounge-lashes the others for not aiding her and working as a team.
249-251 School is back in session for the Four plus One as the month proceeds. Boomer checks up on any info concerning Ice Tina while he brews over his plans. He contacts Mr. Kezar and they discuss the possibility of “exploring” Ice Tina and the stuff Boomer found there. Mr. Kelzar says “no thanks”, leaving Boomer to involve Bull in his planning.
Next Boomer goes grabs Devon and goes to visit the Bridge, and survives the computer “teaching” him how to work and understand the Engineering console. Then he asks the computer to make copies of the Crystals he got from Ice Tina. He also asks the computer if there are any storage boxes, or weapons he could acquire for use. The computer shows him an Armory and Storage room where he can get both. He collects 5 pistols and 5 rifles and, with Devon’s aid, he takes them out and leaves.
Next he takes Haruhi to see Bull and takes the rest to do some practice with the guns. Haruhi talks with Bull, arguing and debating things, and making deals, and after a bit Bull succumbs to her wiles and Awakens her Psi powers. Meanwhile, Boomer and the Girls learn to wield the weapons and discover how awesome they are. Then the Girls return home to study and do classwork.
Next day, Boomer reports to Bull about his discoveries and the weapons training. Bull advises him Haruhi is active once more……and she will pay the price later. They make plans to go to Ice Tina, so Boomer gets Dee, Yuri, Keiko, Haruhi, Dara, Elaina, Bull, Silverbolt, Air Raid, First Aid and Rabbit and load up the Emeraldus. Add supplies and head off.
252-258 [extra jump]
259-260 ICE TINA
Arrive at the snowy ice ball and immediately spot a Cybot ship across the system. They avoid detection at first, and then they slip on the Black Globe and drift into orbit abound the planet. When they come out, they pay to dock the ship at the Downport. Unloading the Cutter, they all fly off to the plinths location. Boomer uses the new crystals to fully connect the Shifter, and then they all shift to a location assuredly inside the planet. Boomer feels “something” scan him, as well as the rest, but nothing else happens. The group explore on into the dark and eventually find a hug room full of stuff, including a ship of unusual design. Bull “contacts” the computer, and it acknowledges him, so Bull asks the lights be turned up. The computer tells him there is no power, and the maintenance crew is gone (dead), and something is guarding the Energy room thru the next door. Bull has everyone suit up (per se) and they all go into the next room. There Boomer and Bull notice a set of generators, some damaged, just before a warbot spider-bot attacks. A huge fight ensues, but they manage to take it out and Boomer moves to repair the damage. Bull helps him, and eventually they restore power fully. Back in the other room, they find a way into the ship and explore it fully. They discover it is a long forgotten Ancient’s vessel, fully armed and plated with armor, plus it operates on a completely different set of physics than the Imperium. They also discover how to fuel it, and take the time to do so and load some spare fuel into the cargo bay.
261-262 Deciding Bull can handle everything else, Boomer heads out to retrieve Elaina. He uses the shifter, then takes the crystals and stores them before heading to the Downport. There he concocts an idea for getting everyone home, and realizes he needs to hire another Merc to help man the Esmareldus home. Once back at the ship, he contacts Carl who puts him in touch with a Merc Army Commando who meets his criteria. Then he gathers Dee, Elaina and the cargo he needs before heading off to meet the Merc, named Roget. He does so and discovers he is more than qualified, containing every skill Boomer needs and possibly more, and he’s a lone Aslan. Boomer digests this surprise, and decided he will still hire him because his resume is that good, and does so directing him to the Esmareldus. He returns there and informs the crew of the new hire, and solidifies plans, then takes his passengers and cargo back to the new craft. That done, they manage to get the ship out and into orbit, where Boomer has the ship “teach” everyone else how to read Ancient. Everyone handles it well enough, except Keiko, who wets herself from the strain. Dara and Dee head down to the Galley to fix dinner while the rest “handle” the Cybot ship in the system. It is surprisingly easy, and the Esmareldus arrives in orbit and prepares to leave. Boomer and the gang watch them leave, then they go as well.
263-265 [A/H Drive]
266-268 GLISTEN
Arrive at Planetoid Wolverine after only a day or so, and Boomer is shocked. The Girls announce they have found a Cutter or sorts, so they all take it down and land. Once back at the Eagles Nest, all 5 of the Girls pile into a shower for a long, giggle filled relaxation. Boomer sits back with a drink and studies the Aslan hierarchy mentality and their reaction with others, especially Varger and the Imperium. Then he contacts Mr. Kelzar and sets up a meeting with him. Bull goes with him, and the three of them discuss future plans and how they will play a part in them. Mr. Kelzar also offers to send a team of Scientists, led by Mary Kei, to the new ship to check it out. Boomer agrees, and a day or so later she comes to visit them at the Eagles Nest. Boomer discusses what she plans to do with the new ship, and they make some plans, and Mary Kei determines it would be a lot easier if she understood Ancient rather than have Boomer hang about for translation duties. So he takes her to the Bridge and asks the Computer to “teach her Ancient”. It is a shocking effort, but she survives. Devon is on hand to help her recover, although for a brief bit she loses the ability to speak Basic. Then Boomer takes her and the rest to the new ship to check it out.
269-280
The Esmareldus shows up and docks. Roget is introduced to Stegal, and the rest of the Mercs, and ground rules are set between both. The Girls spend some time catching up on their schoolwork, doing extra credit and generally becoming invisible for a while. Boomer relaxes and studies his notes, and goes over what he has learned from his dealings over the last few weeks.
Finally it is time for the Imperia Concert. The Girls are excited beyond belief, and are nearly unbearable. Dee wears a fine dress, cut for combat and her sword. All the Girls wear short skirts of different styles; Yuri looks like a fancy girl, Keiko looks like an athletic powerhouse, Haruhi looks like a nerdy schoolgirl, Dara looks relatively normal, and Elaina looks very much like a walking rape-case. Boomer talks with Keiko and points out that, for tonight, help him keep a close eye on Elaina. She agrees, and Boomer calls for a limo to pick them up.
At the concert, they are impressed and excited (“they” being the Girls.) and wait eagerly for the show to start. Boomer scans the crowd and surroundings, looking for any signs of trouble – but finds none. Then the show begins, and the crowd rush is amazing, pressing the group up against the fence at the edge of the stage. As song after song plays the the screaming grows louder and louder, the crushing crowd eventually presses (Boomer and Dee.) each and every one of the Girls across the fence and into Security’s hands where they are transported out of harms way and onto the sidestage. There they dance and scream and watch the show, until Keichi sends a roadie over to talk to Keiko. She excitedly tells Yuri and Haruhi that her brother has invited them to sing backup on the next song, if they want. Boomer overhear this, and is bemused as he watches them rush out onto the stage. They sing the next song and are excited beyond belief. Then when the show is over, they are escorted backstage with Imperia to chill. They enjoy the buffet, and Haruhi collects autographs from everyone, then goodbyes are said and everyone returns home to Wolverine.
281-285 The Girls are vibrating with excitement after the concert, and Boomer settles down and collects news and updates on the status of the rebellion. Mary Kei contacts Boomer and delivers a report on how everything is going and asks him to send Haruhi up to help. Boomer agrees and sends Yuri along with her to help and watch over her. The Countess contacts Boomer about going to Marastan and possibly collecting some underwater archive data info. Boomer agrees, and then contacts Sir Jamie Holgrove, Imperial Archeologist, and talks with him about the mission specifics. He sends Keiko and Dara down to the lake with Elaina to do some underwater training while he checks online for the necessary underwater gear and weapons. Then he contacts his lawyer to set up all the papers he needs to legitimize this acquisition. As the evening comes, he sits down with Dee and the Girls to watch Steve in a show about undersea wildlife on Marastan, including the Octokraken, and are sutibly shocked!
Next day, Boomer contacts Rabbit and sets him to modifying a weapon for use underwater against the Octokraken. Rabbit comes up with an idea, and Boomer green lights it. So the day passes on by, with preparations going underway, until a shipment arrives from next-day-space delivering Boomer’s gear and Rabbit’s stuff. Rabbit get’s to work immediately, while Boomer goes swimming with Keiko. After some constant training from Jaeger, Boomer gains Swimming skill.
Next day Mary Kei contacts Boomer again and delivers a report on the ship. Boomer asks how the duo are doing, and Mary Kei tells him they are being good girls. Boomer is pleased, and goes to talk with Rabbit about his modifications. Rabbit shows Boomer his creation, the Sonic Reducer [6-10 D6 Dmg] and how to use it. Boomer contacts Mary Kei and tells her about transferring ships tomorrow.
Next day, everyone has a “last breakfast” before assigning duties. Boomer, Dee, Yuri, Keiko, Haruhi, Dara, Elaina, Devon, Rabbit, Jaeger, Ouzo, Bull, Slingshot, Rachet, Air Raid – all go with Boomer to the Bridge and the ones who need it learn Ancient from the Bridge computer so they can work on the new ship easier. Then they all go up to the ship, make preparations, and go!!
286-287 [A/H Drive]
288-291 MARASTAN
Arrive at Marastan in a flash, and Boomer goes online to do some more shopping. He locates a shop and acquires the necessary supplies for all 9 of them – scooters, light attachments, and some special drones. He also signs everyone up for classes designed to familiarize them with their new equipment. Then he finds and rents a beach house close to the drop off point for the beginning of their adventure. All this starts to filter into Boomers mind as possibly unnecessary. They go down to the beach house and get settled in. Dee complains to Boomer that Haruhi and Keiko are snuggling on the couch, in just t-shirts, watching TV and he should talk with them. He does so, trying not to appear very dickish, and heads off to contact Bull concerning taking the Columbus underwater. Bull thinks it should be possible, so they agree to attempt it.
Next day they return to the Columbus and Bull takes it underwater toward the sunken city and the Archive. Keiko takes her place as the new Bridge Bunny by manning the Sensors, and they search for the Octokraken. They find it, and Boomer has her scan it, and has Haruhi fire off a couple of shots at it. Boomer then discovers the ship can “shift” them almost where they need to go, so Boomer has everyone suit up and off they go. They appear in the Archive and locate a passage down when the Octokraken arrives. Boomer hold it off while everyone runs downstairs. After a floor or two, they come into a vault with a secret hideaway in it. They explore it and find a shit-ton of Datacorders, which they take. Then they make their way back up to the upper level, distract the beast once again, and “shift” away. As the Columbus is leaving, the Octokraken attacks it, latching onto it. Boomer and Haruhi get ubercharged from Bull and then strike the beast with the assassin blow technique. The Columbus exits orbit and heads for home.
292-293 [A/H Drive]
Along the way, Boomer set’s Haruhi to copying over as much of the Datacorders as possible, till they get home where she will do more.
294-295 GLISTIN
Back home quicker than anyone expected, Boomer decided to take some time to tie up a few loose ends. He get’s more blank Datacorders for Haruhi to copy onto, and he contacts Mr. Kelzar. He tells him about the fun they recently had, and starts to possibly set up a deal with him when Haruhi runs into the room vibrating with excitement. Boomer talks with her and discovers she has located secret directions to an Ancient’s “base” on one of the Datacorders. Boomer has her start copying that one first, and contacts Bull to give him an update on how things are goin. Then he shifts to the Bridge and talk with the Computer about the finding. The ship tells him is could be an Ancient’s Robot factory, no doubt well guarded but full of left over toys. Boomer returns home and finds out that Elaina has gone missing -again – and tries to find her. Notes she had went down to the lake to meet Ozuo and took her new toys with her. Boomer goes down there only to find her stuff, but no Elaina. He locates her via her implant and calls for Yuri to pick him up and they race away to find her. They arrive and find her weeping in the dark – over 250 miles away! Boomer talks with her, and then the Computer, and discovers lore about something called a “Collector” the Ancients used to get things. It’s tiny, invisible, fast and able to move things via teleportation to various spots.
300-305 Elaina tells Boomer her Mother has called her but wants to talk to Boomer. He does so, wondering at her motives, and she requests he contact her via a secure line. He does so, again wondering at her motives, and she immediately drops all formality and noble-ess as she asks him to perform a job for her. A probably illegal job. Boomer listens and talks with her concerning it. Seems her husbands company is working on a upgraded perfected psi-suppressing drug for shield usage for some equipment, but to do so she would need some horribly illegal plants from Warzburg, and the Imperium must not know. She asks if Boomer could acquire them for her. Boomer agrees he will research it, and think about it, and get back in touch with her over it. He then goes and talks with Dee about the job. He learns the plant is guarded by a descendant of the Ancients known as the Cherie, [basically psi-assasins] and if the Inquisition finds out about this they will be most unhappy with Boomer gathering some of them. For any reason. Boomer then goes and talks with Bull about it, while the Four + One join him on the trip, and asks for the crystal so he can contact the FC. Bull asks why, so Boomer explains, and Bull agrees and hands him the crystal. Boomer contacts the FC and talks with Kasa, who hands him over to Kennard, who let’s him talk with Reynaud and arranges for them to come for a visit. After a bit, the FC arrives and Boomer discusses the mission with them. Their suggestion is to go back home and let Boomer talk with the only known survivor of an encounter with the Cheri. He agrees, and the Four + One want to go also, so Boomer get’s talked into it. He brings Dee as well, as a cultural advisor and help, and with a concerted assist from the Keeper they transcend into the Over-world, and then transfer to Darkover, where they return from the Over-world. Once at Care Donn, they stay at one of the Alderan guest houses and settle in to wait till the family reunion. Boomer reads up about the Cheri from some kiddy books and other library books, and then strolls about Care Donn examining the local atmosphere.
305-307 Spend more time wandering about and trying to collect more info with little success. Go to the family gathering at the Alderan Estate and talk with Uncle Bertram about his encounter with the Cheri. Afterward he wanders about the gathering, and talks with Dio about acquiring some pollen. He also talks with Kasa about learning to travel the Over-world. She agrees, but suggests it might be better if Dee were to teach him instead. He talks to Dee and she agrees to teach him. They encounter a family Knight named Sanchez who bargains for breeding rights with Dee and/or Dara. Boomer refrains from knocking him senseless, and instead winds up having a meeting with Dom Alderan. They talk more about the Cheri, and they all return to their guest house. Dee teaches Boomer what he needs to know about the Over-world and opening portals there and moving about, and then they head for home.
308-310 Unpack and settle in at the Eagles Nest. Boomer deals with some Collectors, and makes an attempt at hunting them. He also sends Silverbolt to the Countess to deliver the pollen he acquired. Boomer goes to The Bridge and talks with the planetoid about the Cheri. He discovers they seem to resemble a Noble Class of Ancients called Noble’ Egris and he learns they have a favorite food source. The planetoid offers to make some of the food for Boomer to use in a possible trade deal, so Boomer sends Yuri and gang out to collect some ingredients the Bridge needs. They are successful, and the planetoid manufactures some of the food for Boomer.
Bomer heads for home, where he rests and practices moving into and out of the Over-world some more. He also sends the Girls out to recover stuff the Collectors have stolen and hidden away. Later on, he go and talks with the Bridge some more about the weapons in the armory and what use they might be against the Cheri, if any. He provides some tranq grenades and lets the Bridge examine them. The Bridge offers to concentrate some of the tranq rounds for Boomer if he needs them, plus it offers to create a Translator for Boomer to use with the Cheri.
311-314 Boomer practices moving into and out of the Over-world for a bit before arranging to speak with Mr. Kelzar. Then he and Dee to to the Bridge and fill some data sticks with info before feeling their oats and fool around. They head home and clean up and when night falls he has a talk with the Trio and discusses about getting them some if it is possible. He also talks with Elaina about going to visit her mother on tomorrow daytrip he is taking to Glisten. She is thrilled.
Next day, Boomer takes Elaina to glisten and drops her off with the Countess before he goes to visit Mr. Kelzar. They discuss things about the Cheri and the Kyriseth plants, without Boomer actually giving up too much info except to make a deal with Kelzar on “acquiring” some of the plants. That done, he heads off into SuSAG to visit his daughter. Along the way he passes the science lab where the scientists are working on the Artifact, so he checks in on them and it. It almost rapes his mind allowing him a certain view of it as well. He escapes and goes to visit Mary Kei for a bit. He talks with her, and they do lunch, and return. Then, as he is leaving, he stops in with the Artifact once again. This time he makes contact with it and learns the being inside is named Damos, and by nature it makes him an offer he can’t (supposedly!) refuse. Much like the Sharra-demon inside of Bull, Damos would occupy a spot in Boomer’s soul if Boomer would free him. In return, he would give Boomer unimagined psychic power plus access to his own formidable ice powers. Boomer decides not to, and escapes, then heads off to met up with Elaina. They head home where Boomer talks with Dee about Damos.
Next day, Haruhi quizzes Boomer about his adventures to no avail. Boomer wonders briefly how she even knew to ask, but he showers and shifts to the Bridge to talk about the drug. During the course of their talk, the Bridge scans his mind and learns about Damos and is shocked into silence. The Bridge tells Boomer much about the Ancients/Cybot war, hindered/aided by the Demons, and learns info on how it all went down. Boomer returns home and has Haruhi hack into the Scout base systems and collect into on Darkover, or Warzburg as the Imperium knows it, and then returns to the Bridge to gather up the concentrated drug darts. The group prepares to travel thru the Over-world to go to Darkover, then they rest.
The next day Boomer contacts Bull about overcharging him so things would be easier. Bull agrees to stay and guard the Planetoid should need arise. Boomer get’s Dee, Yuri, Keiko and Haruhi and they go into the Over-world with their equipment. They move to Darkover and descend next to the Alderan Tower.
315-317 They go to Caer Donn and register for dual hotel rooms where they set up base. Then they do down to the restaurant for supper, and afterward move out into the town to rent some Horsarus Rex’s and a cart for traveling, plus some weapons. Then they return to the rooms for rest.
Next day, they move out searching for the Cheri. As the day progresses, they find some gathering in a field and engage them in conversation, along offering them some of the “Cheri Chow” and telling them about the Cybots. Things are going well, until mysteriously the translator goes snafu and the Cheri become upset. Boomer tries to negotiate with his own skills, but things go awry and the Cheri attack. Yuri gets hit, and Boomer and Dee try to grab the girls and make a hasty retreat, but in the shock Boomer drops Haruhi, and when he returns she has been shot. Nonetheless, they escape to the Alderan Tower, and Boomer gets Dom Alderan and his Keeper to aid them. Keiko is deeply upset, and won’t leave their side, so Boomer asks Dee to watch over her as well. Boomer contacts the FC and asks for their advice, but finds they can be of no service. Boomer then transitions his way back thru the Over-world to Wolverine and checks with SuSAG about repairs to his hand. He also contacts the Countess and gives her an update. Gathering up Dara and Elaina, he heads to Glisten and drops them off before going to SuSAG. He goes to see Mary Kei for repairs and they talk. He also goes and visits his sister, Magda, and breaks the news about Yuri, and to a lesser degree Haruhi, to her. She is upset, so Boomer leaves and contacts his Mother and talks with her. Along the way, he hears Damos calling to him, but he ignore him and his offers. He gathers the two girls and heads he, where his sleep is disturbed by Damos again. He drowns him out with music from Imperia.
Next day, he has breakfast with Dara and Elaina before heading to the Bridge and getting more translators made. Collecting them, he returns home and after making sure things are ok he transitions again to Darkover. There, Dee tells him Keiko is so upset she hasn’t left their side nor does she appear to be willing. The Keeper tells Boomer she might be able to help them, but can’t as long as Keiko is there “protecting” them. Boomer goes to talk with Keiko and they go outside for a walk. She works out some aggravation on a squad of guards standing by, and Boomer watches. Afterward, they go back into the Tower where the Keeper tells Boomer she can perform a healing ritual, but Keiko must agree not to interfere. Boomer talks with her, and she agrees. The Keeper cycles energy into and out of the paitent, starting with Yuri, and Keiko trembles as Yuri twitches and screams. Finally Keiko has to leave, and the Keeper wakes Yuri. Keiko returns, and they reunite, then they both watch the Keeper do the same to Haurhi. She wakes, and all three reunite. Boomer thanks the old Keeper for all she has done.
318-321 Boomer studies his Psi skills, and Keiko rests and recuperates a bit for about 4 days before Dee finally flips and calls it quits. She helps Boomer get everyone up and thru the Over-world back home. There they all continue relaxing and settling down, as Boomer and Dee go to the Bridge and collect the translator bracelets. Boomer “psi-records” his adventure, and has the ship translate it for him so he can study what went wrong. He also gets a reading on the ships fuel supply (it has about 6 months left) and then they head home. Dara is fixing a cake and Haruhi asks for Boomer’s password because her and Elaina are going outside to do some work. Boomer instead adjusts her own access so they can go, and in the meantime he discovers one of his sensor’s around the Eagles Nest is gone. He tracks it down to where he feels the Collector took it and encounters a Preserver, a Collector’s aid. He survives the encounter, so he gets the Girls armored up and they return to finish it off. Then he goes to the Bridge to query the ship on them. He learns much, then returns home and field tests his translators.
322-324 Boomer conducts more field tests on his devices. Then he shifts to the Bridge and has the ship run some diagnostics on them. He also talks to the ship and learns more about the Collector/Preserver pairs and their ways. He gets Tralfaz to help him collect and deliver the stuff from the Collectors storage bin, then he contacts Studd and asks to borrow Darrin. Studd agrees, saying Darrin could use a vacation, so they return to the Eagles Nest where they prepare to go into the Over-world again, and travel to Darkover.
Settling down at a fancy inn, Boomer purchases provisions for their trip and contacts Kasa to ask her to come see them. He orders food and drink, and when Kasa shows up he has her test the Girls. Then retest them. Finally, she is convinced of their gifts and has them select a matrix each. Keiko is the strongest, Yuri is the brightest, and Haruhi…..is keyed. Boomer has Kasa teach him ‘portal’ and they all study, meditate and charge their matrices.
The next few days they rest and practice. Boomer learns they all have Telepathy, Yuri has Clairvoyance, Keiko has Clairvoyance and Telekinesis, an Haruhi……has telepathy. But in a diverse fashion! They rest and learn how to Focus Shield and Focus Ray.
325-326 Next day they go looking for the Cheri in vain. Nearly freeze as they search. Finally they set up camp and spend a chilly night before they continue their search.
327-328 Finally they find some Cheri and their plants and converse with them. The translators work jut fine, as well as the “mana mix” bribe, but the Cheri demand more food and a hostage. Boomer gives them Tralfaz and heads off to go back to Wolverine to get more mana made. They load up an Air-Raft and with Darrin’s help they shift it into the Over-world and then to Darkover. They return to the Cheri and trade the mana for plants, and recover Tralfaz, before heading off. Along the way they stop off at Dom Alderan’s estate and talk with him, receiving a blackmail threat from the old man. Boomer and gang manage to escape, and they hide in the Over-world to rest the night away, forgetting to return the provisions they purchased.
At dawn, they travel back to Wolverine where they drop off Darrin and head for home. Boomer contacts the Countess and tells her of his exploits. She is thrilled and comes and collects the plants immediately. She pays Boomer well. Very well, so he d ivies up the loot among the gathered group and settles back to rest.
329-330 Haruhi and Elaina are up and run off to jog and exercise. Boomer heads to the Bridge and experiments with the weather controls, drenching the duo as they run about. He chases them home, and then returns to join them. He settles down to order some supplies from offline so they can store them up in the Over-world.
Boomer does some research on Marastan, including the possibility of any ruins located there. Partway thru his research something causes all electronic systems in the Eagles Nest to shut off. He investigates and discovers something has cut off the Planetoid from the rest of the Glisten system, most likely the Collector. He decides to go to the Cargo Bay where the Collector stores its stuff, but he decides against the Shifter so he calls for a Cutter. Silverbolt, Heavy Duty and Shipwreck show up and take Boomer and the Girls
1 to the Cargo Bay. There they attempt to recover the missing Planetoid part, and encounter the Collector and Preserver guarding it. A firefight ensues, during which Boomer, Shipwreck, Heavy Duty and Elaina get hurt before they recover the part. Gathering it up, they fly to the Base and have Devon look them over. She works on them before they return home.
331-335 A couple of days pass, during which Yuri takes Boomer and Elaina to meet with Devon to have a checkup. Finally Boomer has Silverbolt, Air Raid, Rabbit, First Aid, Elaina and Yuri take the Cutter to pick up Tralfaz and go to re-install the missing part. Keiko and Haruhi join them as they travel across the Planetoid to a formerly undisclosed Backup Bridge where they locate the tools necessary and install the part. The Planetoid reconnects with the Glisten system.
Returning home, Boomer checks his emails, discarding the junk ones and ignoring one that appears to be from Damos. He relaxes and watches a documentary on Marastan Carnivorous Plant Life by Steve, and also checks online for supplementary research. He obtains a list of 20 diseases the flora has, and contacts Devon about possible defenses or cures. She advises him 15 of them are preventable, but the other 5 aren’t, and of them 3 are fatal.
Boomer contacts GINA’s Botonology Dept and talks with a Prof. Coswell who agrees to set him up with Lady Maria Harowitz, local expert in Carnivorous Plant Life, for a meeting at Momma Larosa’s eatery on Glisten. He asks Elaina if she would like to go, as a sort of Noble Liaison, but the rest of the Girls find out and clamor to go as well for some Holiday shopping. Boomer has Roget and Heavy Duty join them to act as “chaperon/guards”.
Next day they all board the Cutter and head off to Glisten, where they drop the Girls off so they head to the Mall while Boomer and Elaina head to their meeting. There they meet Lady Harowitz and discover she is a determined flirt, plus Boomer discovers she is Psychic. Elaina helps him survive the meeting and the two leave with a collection of info to rejoin the Girls and the Mercs.
336 Boomer checks his email msg’s and finds one from Mr. Kelzar asking to meet him for lunch at the SuSAG cafeteria tomorrow.
337-338 Boomer goes to Glisten and meets with Mr. Kelzar and discusses the mission specs. Mr. Kelzar wants him to go to Mora and retrieve some data from an old, abandoned SuSAG facility on the outskirts of town. The data belonged to Prof Hito Akiracho and his wife Lady Suki Akachiro, the developers of the specialty cyber limbs like the one Boomer wears. Boomer arranges to meet with Mari Kei and have lunch with her while reviewing the mission info. They meet up and visit, and Boomer discovers that the Prof’s last name is the same as Haruhi’s maiden name. However, due to his planning for the mission and detailing various plans in his mind he forgets momentarily to make a note of it. After lunch, he heads for home where he explains to all concerned what his next mission is and implements even more plans concerning it. He contacts Silverbolt, Roget, Rachet, Breaker, Rabbit and Devon to meet himself and the Four+1 at the Emeraldus the next day.
339-345 [extra jump]
Keiko and Roget spar in the cargo hold of the ship as the group travels.
346-350 MORA
Arrive at Mora and spy Arch Duke Norris’s fleet in orbit protecting the system. Silverbolt guides the Emeraldus into a low orbit and parks. Boomer has Silverbolt and Rabbit stay on the ship while everyone else descends to the planet with him. Land at down port and rent a TransGrav-Van and travel about the city looking at the wreckage and rebuilding going on. Locate Mushauns Noodles and stop for some lunch before continuing on across the empty and abandoned parts of the city. Encounter an unexpected Cybot patrol on the way and have an encounter until they manage to get away. Find the old SuSAG buildings and park, taking the time to slip into the Over-World to avoid the Cybot patrol apparently searching for something in the building ruins. Boomer opens a portal and they all move thru the Over-World up to the top of the research building, when they come out and search for the Data. Haruhi discovers a picture of her parents and her from long ago at the same time as Elaina retrieves the data and the Cybots find them. Needless to say, she is upset, but Boomer locks the doors and rigs up a Sapphire Grenade booby trap on them. Then they all go into the Over-World, and slip thru a portal back down to the parked vehicle just as the charge detonates, taking the top of the building and the Cybots with it. A huge section of debris rains down on the group, and most everyone dodges except Yuri, who is covered and hurt. Devon stabilizes her and they rush across the outskirts again toward a hospital. Along the way they encounter another Cybot patrol but evade it until they get to the hospital, where Boomer contacts Arch Duke Norris’s fleet and requests help. A detachment of Space Marines drop down and take up position guarding the hospital, defending it and taking out the Cybots as they approach. Yuri is in treatment for about 3 days so the group stays at the TAS until the Doctor announces she can leave. She has broken ribs, broken legs, and a broken back that the Doctors repaired with Cybernetics. She uses her psi gifts to convince the Hospital to let her go early. Devon agrees to watch over her as the gang returns to the down port and head back up to the ship and then home.
351-355 [extra jump]
Keiko and Haruhi stay by Yuri’s side, helping her with everything she needs.
356-357 WOLVERINE
They dock back at home and everyone returns back to their bases. Boomer drops off the Girls at home and sett;es in to recoup and relax with Dee watching over them. Devon agrees to come by daily for checkups on Yuri. Boomer contacts Mr. Kelzar and delivers the goods, making sure to mention he expects Hazard Pay in addition to the “standard fee”.
358-360 Boomer decides to make plans on refueling the Planetoid, but to do that properly he contacts the Merc psychics to meet him and Keiko at the Bridge to undergo training. It works well for all of them except Silverbolt, who fails to grasp the nuances. Still, Boomer has Devon keep and eye on Silverbolt while he recovers, and he takes the rest to the small ships for practice. Boomer also contacts Slaughter and has him join them while they all practice.
Next day they all pack up on the Planetoid and head out across the system to the far side of the Asteroid field. Once there they man the ships and start Harvesting the Asteroids, filling the Planetoid’s tanks. A Cybot Pyramid appears and bears down on them, so they perform a defensive retreat and head toward Arch Duke Norris’s fleet near the gate. While doing so, Boomer asks the Planetoid to construct more psychic Warbots to man the fighters in case of emergency. The Fleet moves to intercept them, and Boomer has Yuri use her Clairivoiance to locate the Cybot bridge. Then he linked thru her and injected his memory of “pollen rage” into the Cybots, which caused mayem long enough to stop the Pyramid, and allow the Fleet to join and defeat the Pyramid. Then they return to the far side of the system again and collect more Asteroids.
361-362 One of the shuttles won’t start, and Boomer gets Rabbit and they discovers part of it is “missing”. Fearing it is the Collector again, Boomer suits up in his Battle Dress and takes Rachet, Livewire, Red Alert and Flint then heads off to retrieve it. They search about for a while but are unable to find the part this time, They all go to the other Flight Bay to look over one of those ships and check if it has the part they need. They locate it, but decide to simply take one of the shuttles back and use it, so they do. Over the next day or so they Harvest more than enough Asteroids to top off the tank, as it were, and the Planetoid is happy.
363-365 Boomer contacts Mr Kelzar and asks about Haruhi. Mr Kelzar asks to meet him for a personal face-to-face meeting tomorrow, so Boomer agrees. He contacts Stegal, Rojet and Heavy Duty and advises them they will be accompanying the bunch as they go to Glisten.
Boomer takes Dee, Yuri, Keiko, Dara, Elaina and Haruhi and the Merc bodyguards to Glisten so they can do some last minute shopping while he goes to SuSAG. Haruhi listens in but stays away as Boomer talks with Mr Kelzar. They discuss how the megacorperation, Naasikira, tried to hire Prof Akiracho away from SuSAG, and he refused, so Naasikira put a hit on him and his family. It was successful in killing the Prof and his wife, Lady Akiracho, but the blast that destroyed their home apparently missed Haruhi, because she wasn’t there. He didn’t know she had survived, and apparently she was good at staying undetected, so she became an orphan living on her wits and the help of strangers. Naasikira slowly over time erased any and all details about the Akiracho family from records and messed with the official reports until time had forgotten about it. Mr Kelzar says the only place that would possibly still have any records would be Makhidkarun, a megacorperation known for their genealogies, amongst other things. Boomer notes this and bids Mr Kelzar adieu before contacting the girls and heading for home. The Holidays happen with much fanfare and feasting.
